First edition concept:
Tell me your movie: fables and realities of the cinema
Focus:
The cinematographic narrative
The Guadalajara International Film Festival (GIFF) will present for the first time in Mexico the Talent Campus Guadalajara (TCG), in collaboration with the Berlinale Talent Campus, that will take place from March 20 - 24, 2009, within the activities of the GIFF’s 24 edition.
On the last GIFF edition, Visionary Campus Guadalajara was an encounter that helped to link collaboration between the GIFF and the Berlinale Talent Campus. This five-day program of meetings consisted in gathering some of the most important documentary filmmakers in the world with young filmmakers. From this first successful encounter both festivals decided to carry out the first Talent Campus in Guadalajara.
The Berlinale Talent Campus and the Guadalajara International Film Festival call for entries to all audiovisual artists and filmmakers (professional and advanced students) from Mexico, Colombia, Central America and the Caribbean to participate at the master classes, conferences and discussion tables of the first Talent Campus Guadalajara. The application will be open from December 1st. 2008 to January 10 2009.
The first TCG edition will focus on the cinematographic narrative, which is conceived and produced through the work and vision of those involved in contemporary cinema. Conferences, discussion tables, and master classes will be offered. The centre of attention will be on constructing a solid narrative foundation for audiovisual projects. The TCG will address the theme: Tell me your movie: fables and realities of the cinema.
To highlight GIFF’s objective of releasing a creative dialogue and exchange, participating experts will come from all over the world to share their knowledge and exchange their experiences with 60 students selected from Mexico, Colombia, Central America and the Caribbean.
