For the purpose of bringing short filmmakers closer to the Film Industry and to promotional and sales opportunities, for this edition the Guadalajara International Film Festival in through the Industry Area has designed SHORT UP!!! a concept devoted exclusively to short films in the industry.
This space will be located at the 7th Guadalajara Film Market facilities and will have a meeting and networking area allowing accredited short filmmakers to display their work and to network with programmers, sales agents and film distributors.
On March 21, the day will be devoted to SHORT UP!!! screenings, where we will be happy to present four programs of Mexican Short Films –fiction and documentary- recently produced 2008-2009. (Please consult programming and schedules CINEPOLIS CENTRO MAGNO)
These programs were made possible through the participation of the Mexican Film Institute (IMCINE), the Association of Women in Film and Television, AC, Mexico, the Film Training Center (CCC), The University Center of Cinematographic Studies (Centro Universitario de Estudios Cinematográficos, CUEC) of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, UNAM) and University Center for Arts, Architecture and Design at the University of Guadalajara (UDG CUAAD).
As part of the activities of SHORT UP!!!, we will have a session provided by Jan Miller, who is internationally recognized as having one of the best pitching workshops around the world. –March 22, from 18.30 to 20.00 Hrs.- Room Magnolia Hotel Fiesta Americana
With the launch of SHORT UP!!!, Guadalajara International Film Festival propose an international boost to the short film. For us, it’s a great pleasure to have around of 200 short films listed in the Market this year. These titles conform a rich catalog of Mexican films and the rest of Ibero-America that may be promoted to buyers, distributors and sales agents called to this seventh edition.
