A press conference was held within the context of the International Film Festival in Guadalajara by Raul Padilla Lopez, president of the Board of Trustees, and Jorge Sanchez Sosa, Festival director, during which the winners of the official and unofficial Festival categories were announced.
The winners are listed below:
UNOFFICIAL CATEGORIES
The jury for the Children’s category, Spectators of the Future, awarded the prize to Valentino y el Clan Clan by director David Bisbano.
The Latin American Federation of Image and Sound Schools (FEISAL) awarded its prizes to Los Herederos by Eugenio Polgovsky, and El Milagro del Papa by Jose Luis Valle, with honorable mention going to Bagatela by Jorge Caballero.
The Press Warrior prize for a Mexican Fiction Feature Film was awarded to Voy a Explotar by Gerardo Naranjo.
The International Federation of Film Critics (FIPRESCI) awarded its prizes to La Nana, directed by Sebastian Silva, and Oveja Negra, directed by Humberto Hinojosa Ozcariz.
The Mescal Jury awarded its prize in the category of Mexican Fiction Feature Film to Voy a Explotar by director Gerardo Naranjo.

Best animated short: Jaulas by Juan Jose Medina.
Best Ibero-American short: Karai Norte by Marcelo Martinessi.
Best Mexican short: El Tío Facundo by Alejandro Cachoua.

Best Mexican documentary: Los que se Quedan by directors Carlos Hagerman and Juan Carlos Rulfo.
Best Mexican feature-length documentary, special mention: El Viaje del Cometa by Ivonne Fuentes Mendoza.
Ibero-American feature-length fiction, best film: La Teta Asustada by director Claudia Llosa.
Ibero-American feature-length fiction, special mention by the jury: Aquel Querido Mes de Agosto by director Miguel Gomes.
Ibero-American feature-length fiction, best first work: Voy a Explotar by director Gerardo Naranjo.
Ibero-American feature-length fiction, best director: Chus Gutierrez for Retorno a Hansala.
Ibero-American feature-length fiction, best script: Retorno a Hansala, written by Chus Gutierrez and Juan Carlos Rubio.
Ibero-American feature-length fiction, best actor: Andres Parra in La Pasión de Gabriel
Ibero-American feature-length fiction, best actress: Magaly Solier in La Teta Asustada.
Ibero-American feature-length fiction, best photography: Alex Catalan in Camino.
Ibero-American feature-length fiction, special mention for sound: Aquel Querido Mes de Agosto; the prize was given to Vasco Pimentel.
Mexican feature-length fiction films: the jury unanimously decided to select the following films for the 2010 GOLDEN GLOBE AWARDS: Viaje Redondo by Gerardo Tort, and Crónicas Chilangas by Carlos Enderle.
Mexican feature-length fiction, best movie: Viaje Redondo by Gerardo Tort.
Mexican feature-length fiction, best director: Alberto Cortes for Corazón del Tiempo.

The Festival closed the 24th Edition on a spectacular red carpet where all the winners of the prizes announced officially at the press conference paraded.
The ceremony was hosted by actress Dolores Heredia and singer Karina Rico who began by handing out the prizes, then thanking everyone for participating, reminding them that … for Movies, March in Guadalajara.
After the closing ceremony, the Festival winners held a press conference where they answered questions posed by the press and shared anecdotes and experiences during the filming of the movies with those present.
The night ended with the Festival’s Closing Party that took place at the Arch Monument in Guadalajara where all participants in this edition enjoyed a magical evening where shorts were screened, and listened to the music of Radaid, Troker, La Yaga, Zaico Circus, Celso Piña and La Sonora Kaliente, besides the spectacular fireworks that lit up the night for a perfect ending to FICG24.
