The movie Colifata was shown outdoors within the context of the International Film Festival in Guadalajara at the Rambla Cataluña pedestrian mall. This movie is also one of singer Manu Chao’s choices for the Cinelandia section.
Press conferences were held in the afternoon for the films Bala Mordida, Caja Negra, El Cuerno de la Abundancia and La Pasión de Gabriel.
Diego Muñoz, director, actors Miguel Rodarte, Roberto Sosa Rodriguez, Jose Octavio Casto, Jose Concepción, Andres Montiel and musician Pablo Valero were present to introduce Bala Mordida.
“What I am looking for n this movie is to portray a reality in Mexico and Latin America: corruption,” said Diego Muñoz.
Caja Negra was also presented by director Ariel Gordon who said that the actors’ improvisation at work was important to him.
Next it was the turn for El Cuerno de la Abundancia and director Juan Carlos Tabio, actresses Mirta Ibarra and Laura de la Uz were present. The film was described as a tragicomedy that portrays the reality that Cuba is experiencing.
The conference ended with the presentation of the controversial film La Pasión de Gabriel with the presence of director Luis Alberto Restrepo and actress Ana Cecilia Sanchez.
