Biografía
Actor. Licenciado Cum-Laude en Teatro, Mención Interpretación. En poco más de veinte años de actividad profesional ha protagonizado en el Cine, el Teatro y la Televisión, siendo galardonado en numerosas ocasiones con los premios más prestigiosos que se otorgan en Venezuela. Premio Municipal de Cine, Premio Marco Antonio Ettedgui, Premio Nacional del Artista, Premio Municipal de Teatro, Premio Celcit y Premio Juana Sujo, entre otros. En 1999 concluyó estudios de Dirección Cinematográfica en Septima Ars, Escuela de Cine y TV de Madrid, España. Sus más recientes interpretaciones en el cine, los largometrajes: El tinte de la fama de Alejandro Bellame, De perros y corazones de Carmen La Roche, P¬¬uras joyitas de Henry Rivero y César Oropeza y Francisco de Miranda de Diego Rísquez. El Cortometraje de Ficción “Todo lo que sube” representa su debut profesional como Realizador.
Biography
Actor. Cum-Laude Graduate in Theater, Mention: Interpretation. In just over twenty years of his professional career, he has featured in Cinema, Television and Theatre, being honored on numerous occasions with the most prestigious awards that are granted in Venezuela. Municipal Film Award, Marco Antonio Ettedgui Award, National Artist Award, Award Municipal Theatre, Celcit Prize Award and Juana Sujo, among others. In 1999 he completed his Cinematography Direction studies in Septima Ars, TV and Film School in Madrid, Spain. His most recent cinema interpretations are: “El tinte de la fama” by Alejandro Bellame, De perros y corazones by Carmen La Roche, Puras joyitas by Henry Rivero and César Oropeza and “Francisco de Miranda” by Diego Rísquez The Short Fiction “What Goes Up” (2.008) represents his professional debut as a Director and as a writer.
Sinopsis
El ascensor de un edificio de actividad comercial es el único y reducido espacio en el que transcurre Todo lo que sube. Por él transitan una serie de personajes, hombres y mujeres, que intentan aparentar algo que no son. Aparentar frente a otros que no conocemos y con los que nos ha tocado compartir ese incómodo lugar en el que hasta la respiración se percibe. Una atmósfera llena de silencios. Miradas que equivocadamente se entrecruzan. Intimidades que quedan al descubierto. Perfumes que delatan emociones y olores no tan agradables que nadie se quiere adjudicar. Todo lo que sube es una reflexión sobre un mundo donde solo vales por lo que aparentas, provocando en el más débil, una imagen distorsionada de sí mismo.
Synopsis
The elevator of a commercial building is the reduced space where “What Goes Up” takes place. There are a series of characters that get into it, men and women, who pretend to be something they are not. Pretending in front of “others” that they don’t know and with whom they have to share this uncomfortable place where they can even notice each other’s breathing. An atmosphere filled with silences. Looks that mistakenly cross. Intimacies that are uncovered. Perfumes that reveal emotions and not so pleasant smells that no one takes credit for. “What Goes Up” is a reflection of a world where what you are worth is determined by your appearance, causing the weakest people to have distorted images of themselves.
