Biografía
Claudia Llosa Bueno (Lima, Perú, 1976), estudió Ciencias de la Comunicación en la Universidad de Lima (1998), y más tarde realizó un Master de Guión de Cine y TV en Escuela Superior de Artes y Espectáculos TAI en Madrid, España (2001).A lo largo de los años, ha trabajado en publicidad y televisión para empresas peruanas y extranjeras, hasta que incursionó en el cine con Madeinusa (2005), su ópera prima. También es autora del corto Seeing Martina (2004). La teta asustada su segundo largometraje ganó el Festival de Berlín 2009.
Biography
Claudia Llosa Bueno was born November 15th 1976 in Lima, Peru. She studied Communication in the University of Lima , then she obtained a master degree in Film and TV Scriptwriting in the Superior School of Arts and Spectacles TAI, Madrid, Spain. Madeinusa”, her first film, was premiered in the Official Selection of Sundance Film Festival and at the Rotterdam Film Festival. The film has won more than twenty awards in different prestigious international festivals, including the International Critics Award (Fipresci) in Rotterdam Film Festival. Claudia Llosa currently resides in Barcelona. The Milk of Sorrow is her second feature film, won the 2009 Berlín film festival.
Sinopsis
Fausta tiene “la teta asustada”, una enfermedad que se trasmite por la leche materna de las mujeres que fueron violadas o maltratadas durante la guerra del terrorismo en el Perú. La guerra acabó, pero Fausta vive para recordarla porque “la enfermedad del miedo” le ha robado el alma. Ahora la súbita muerte de su madre la obligará a enfrentarse a sus miedos y al secreto que oculta en su interior: ella se ha introducido una patata en la vagina, como escudo, como un protector, y piensa que así nadie se atreverá a tocarla.
Synopsis
Fausta suffers from the “milk of sorrow”, an illness transmitted through mother’s milk by women who have been violated or mistreated during the war of terrorism in Peru. The war has ended, but Fausta lives to remind of it because “the illness of fear” stole her soul. Now, her mother’s sudden death forces her to confront her fears and the secret that is hidden inside of her: she has inserted a potato into her vagina to serve as a protective shield that repels disgusting intruders. The Milk of Sorrow is the story of a search for re-awakening, a journey from fear to freedom.
