Biografía
Vera Egito estudió Comunicación Audiovisual en la Escuela de Comunicaciones y arte en la Universidad de Sao Paulo en 2003. Durante su estadía, se especializó en Dirección de Cinematografía y Fotografía.En 2005, es asistente del director en el largometraje Drained dirigido por Heitor Dhalia. En ese mismo año, escribe el guión de Espalhadas pelo ar junto con su colega Carolina Ziskind. Este corto, hecho en 35 mm, fue filmado en enero de 2007 en coproducción con el Departamento de Cinema Radio y Televisión de la ECA – USP y Ioiô Films etc. Esta película es también el proyecto terminal de graduación, donde hace su debut como directora y actriz.
Biography
Vera Egito started her college degree in Audiovisual Communication at the School of Communication and Arts at USP in 2003. During her career, she specialized in Direction of Cinematography and Photography. In 2005, she is film assistant director in the feature film Drained, directed by Heitor Dhalia. In that same year, she writes the screenplay of Spread through the air in collaboration with her colleague Carolina Ziskind. The short film, in 35mm, was shot in January 2007 in a co-production of the Department of Cinema Radio and Television at ECA – USP and Ioiô Films etc. The film is also Vera’s final graduation project, where she makes her first appearance as director and screen player.
Sinopsis
En la escalera posterior de un edificio residencial, unas chicas fuman a escondidas de sus padres. Ellas se quitan la ropa para que ésta no delate el olor a humo. Cora, de 30 años, vive en el mismo edificio que las chicas, y está estancada en un matrimonio infeliz. La mujer descubre a las chicas fumando. De ahí en adelante comienza el camino hacía su libertad.
Synopsis
On the back staircase of a residential building, girls smoke hiding from their parents. They take off their clothes to prevent being denounced by the smell of smoke. Cora is 30 years old. She lives in the same building as the girls, and is stuck in an unhappy marriage. The woman catches the girls smoking. From then on, she begins her path towards freedom.
